The Paris Motor Show Confirms It: The Future Is Battery-Powered cars

Paris Motor Show 2016 will be held from 1-16 October 2016 at the French capital; the much awaited auto fair clearly indicates that the future of auto industry lies in ‘go electric’.

It was speculated that world leading car makers are no more keen to participate in big car shows , and prefer to showcase their new products in social media or through exclusive launch events.

But for the participants at the Paris fair, it is the right place to place their electric vehicles for showing off.

The fair displayed cars for the common people, Renault introduced its latest electric car ‘Zoe’ which will cost around USD 30,000 that covers 250 miles on single charge.  The car will compete with other same range products of Chevrolet Bolt priced USD 37,500 and Tesla Model 3 costs around USD 35,000. All the above cars are expected to be on roads by next year.

However, there were several other announcements made in electric car sector which will be made available on roads only by year 2020. Mercedes-Benz introduced its battery-powered SUV that runs 310 miles on a charge; along with Volkswagen’s I.D prototype expected to run 380 miles on single charge.

The show indicates a trend that all automobile giants are keen to come up with electric-powered cars by 2020.
