Early menopause in Indian women on rise

The Indian women said to be attaining menopause stage at an early age of 29, the stress factors triggering the situation are hectic lifestyle, changing food habits and others

The disturbing revelations were findings of a recent survey conducted by The Institute for Social and Economic Change. The study claims 4 percent women experience menopause between 29 and 34-years-of-age, and the percentage rises up to 8  percent in the 35-to-39 age group.

Doctors say that symptoms of early menopause are the same as natural menopause which includes periods, hot flashes, mood swings, crying spells and sleeplessness.

The average age of hitting menopause is 51 around the world.
