13-year-old Pune girl creates record in open sea water scuba diving

13-year-old Khushi Parmar from Pune has successfully leveled the Asian Record in open sea water scuba diving competition held in Goa recently. Her record has been registered in the prestigious Asia Book of Records, India Book of Records, Unique World Records and Indian Achievers list.

Khushi dived for two hours and one minute continuously and became youngest diver in the Asian subcontinent to create this record. Altogether, she dived for 11 hours and 31 minutes in nine dives in open sea between April 18-23.

Khushi is currently studying in Mount Carmel High School, has set several exemplary records of swimming for hours, breaking tubelights while driving a motorbike and so on.

For instance, in 2014, she managed to find a place in the India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records for being the youngest to swim continuously for 6 hours, 32 minutes and 10 seconds, thereby breaking the previous record of Cambodia’s Tian Jo Howan who swam for 4 hours 35 minutes.
